Konad Nail Stamping - Second Attempt

Well the title pretty much sums it up ;) I used a lilac base colour of Miss Sporty Clubbing Colour lilac and then stamping plate M44 with the Konad white.  I finished it off with the Konad top coat and some purple nail gems. I found the stamping much easier this time, although there were some mistakes; Check out that terrible middle finger ;) but I did manage to not smudge the stamp with the top coat so I'm slowly improving :)

Konad Nail Stamping Set - First Attempt

So as most of my readers know, I have a bit of a passion for nail art.  About a year ago I stumbled across the konad  Nail Art stamps - I was smitten.  I had planned to put it on my Christmas list, but it completely slipped my mind and until recently I forgot about it. Summer always seems to re-ignite my nail art passion and so it wasn't surprising that I remembered about the Konad stamps and decided to watch some youtube videos; I fell in love all over again :) I have been caring for my lovely husband for the last month and had to cut back my working hours.  Treats and none essential items are pretty much a no go.  When my beautiful Beau initially told me he was going to treat me to the starter set, I politely declined.  After all money is tight and we are saving for a house!  When he told me it wasn't up for debate and that he was getting me a thank you for being awesome gift, I went weak at the knees =D He really is a superstar ;) After checking ...

Strawberry Nail Art

So following on from last weeks post, I am still more than a little obsessed with nail art :) I use YouTube a lot for makeup, hair and nail art tutorials and one of my favourite nail artists is CutePolish . I have attempted many different tutorials from her range, and although always tempted I never went ahead with her strawberries. Part of the reason is that I feared it was one that looked easy to attempt but would end up resulting in a terrible mess. I have to say that I am quite pleased with how they turned out! I did struggle to get the 'leaves' to pop, but next time I think I will use acrylic paint rather than green polish.  If you fancy making your own version, the tutorial is here .

Spring Nail Art

Spring has well and truly sprung in the South of the UK and I cannot deny that my thoughts have already turned to Summer.  I am currently serving a long term work placement as a receptionist and as I am not nursing I can have my nails painted :) I do love a bit of nail art, but there is nothing more depressing than spending hours on a design and then having to remove it the next day for work :(  The last few weeks have allowed me to enjoy some cutsie, easy ideas that are definitely inspired by Spring (and the colour pink!). Polka Dot Pink I am a big fan of polka dots and this isn't the first time I have done this design, it is a firm favourite.  But this is the first time I have used pink and white together (inspired by my Harajuku doll). Start with the base coat in your preferred colour and apply two thin coats Make sure to wait until your polish is completely dry before moving on Use the end of a paintbrush dipped in white acrylic paint (really m...

Movember Inspired - Moustache Nail Art - DIY Silhouette Cameo

For those of you not in the know, Movember is the act of growing a moustache to raise money for Men's Health Charities.  Eh?!? I hear you cry!  Basically on the 1st November, a man is supposed to record a photo of his clean shaven face.  On a daily basis, a photo is taken to show the progress of the Moustache.  People will donate money to him, which in turn is then given to his preferred Male Health Charity.  November then becomes known as Mo-vember! Personally I think it is just a bit of an excuse for men to try out the Grizzly Adams look without fear of repercussions/arguments; Significant others can not possibly complain about the new face fuzz, as it is all for a good cause ;) To show my support for my male friends that are in the running this year, I decided to create some cute Moustache nail decals.  Okay, okay, you've got me.  Firstly its an excuse to use my  Silhouette Cameo , secondly like most Etsy sellers, I am obsessed...

So much can happen in just two little months!

Well after my mood killing post in March it was strange that we should find ourselves pregnant the very month that I had decided to give up. My husband was sticking to his gluten free diet and I was being a good little girl and taking my clomid despite it turning me into a raving psycho she devil from hell.  As with most women that are pregnant after a loss I was convinced that we would end up miscarrying again and sadly I was right.  I don't really feel like going into all the details right now as it is just far too depressing but the basics are that we lost the baby at the same point as the first (between 5 and 6 weeks) and yet again my body hasn't realised what has happened so I am just waiting to miscarry.  I would have been 9 weeks today and unfortunately my body is still producing enough of the pregnancy hormone for me to be feeling all of the pregnancy symptoms.  It is getting quite frustrating that at least 3 weeks after our baby stopped growing I am still w...
